DESCRIPTION:We are excited to kick off the inaugural Sandcastles for Scholarships Competition\, hosted by the Professional Women in Building Council. Thank you to our incredible sponsors for making this event possible! \n\n\n\nPLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT EVENT DETAILS\n\n\n\nThis fun and creative event will take place on Friday\, September 12 at Fort Fisher State Recreation Area\, with a rain date set for Friday\, September 26 in the case of inclement weather.\n\nThis family-friendly competition invites teams to show off their sand sculpting skills while raising scholarship funds to support women entering the skilled trades.\n\nTeam Details:\n\n\n	\n	Limited team spots available - $800 per team\n	\n	\n	Teams may include up to 6 participants\n	\n	\n	Team registration includes a boxed Chick-fil-A lunch\, event t-shirt\, and logo placement on a future scholarship award\n	\n\n\nCompetition Format:\n\n\n	\n	Each team will have 2 hours to build their sandcastle design\n	\n	Teams will receive a starter kit including: 1 large water bucket\, 2 large sandcastle buckets \, 1 large steel shovel\, a set of plastic palette knifes\, scraper tools\, 4 plastic shovels\, cup molds (of varying sizes)\, and 2 brick makers \n	Teams are encouraged to bring their own tools and decorations to enhance their design\n	 All team sandcastle creations will be judged\, and the winning team will be awarded with a trophy!\n\n\nRecommended items to bring:\n\n\n	Sunscreen\n	Beach chairs\n	Towels\n	ONE canopy tent or umbrella per team\n	Additional sandcastle building materials and/or decorations\n\n\nSpectators are welcome and encouraged to attend. Admission is free for spectators\, though lunches and event t-shirts are reserved for team participants and volunteers only.\n\nThis is a Leave No Trace event. The beach must be left in an unaltered\, natural condition. All teams are responsible for taking home everything they bring. Materials that could be damaging to marine life or the environment are strictly prohibited.
