BUILDER ENTRY Home for the Holidays Bus Tour

Join the WCFHBA and the SMC in registering your home for the Home for the Holidays Bus Tour!

This exclusive tour will bring a luxury shuttle bus full of 20+ of the area's best real estate agents straight to your house's door for a day full of beautifully decorated homes and Christmas cheer! This is your opportunity to decorate your house to the nines and show what a family's Christmas could look like in the space. Awards will be given for Best Dressed, Best Decked Halls, Most Spirited, and Best Festive Fare (see more details on each award below; category descriptions have changed slightly this year!).

Due to tour time constraints, we will only accept ONE home per builder and a maximum of NINE builders. Times of arrival for each home will be determined after all homes have been submitted and the route has been created. Builder registration for this event closes the week before Thanksgiving (or whenever nine spots have been filled), so time assignments will be sent no later than the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

In addition to decorating the home, builders are expected to provide drinks and food. Games and/or giveaways are also highly encouraged. This is basically one big Christmas party stretched out over several houses, so have fun with it!

**Builders will receive two tickets each to invite real estate agents to attend this exclusive tour! More tickets may become available after registration has closed or if some builders forfeit their tickets. (Tickets may ONLY be given to real estate agents!)

***This tour is NOT open to the public, but should you choose to extend your normal open house hours into the evening at all--whether on that day or on the following weekend(s)--for the public to see the home lit up in the dark, let us know! We are happy to help you in marketing that to consumers.

AWARDS
Awards will be voted on by the tour attendees throughout the day and will be announced the following day (December 5) for builders to display in their houses for the remainder of the Christmas season.

• Best Dressed (Best Overall Decorations): Everything on the exterior and interior will be taken into consideration. For the exterior, this includes any decor in the yard or on the porch, as well as lighting. For the interior, main living spaces are particularly emphasized. No surprise that the Christmas tree will be a focal point of the award here, but other wow factors like mantels, tablescapes, staircases, etc. are also important in this category. Due to this tour being a daytime event, we recognize it may be difficult for attendees to see any lighting on the outside of the home. We suggest displaying a photo in the house of what it looks like all lit up at night if lighting is a major component of your design. If you have the house decorated by December 1, you can also send us a photo and we can include it in the voting link we will send to attendees.
• Most Spirited (Best Energy and Christmas Cheer): As the classic saying goes, "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear." The most important element of the day--besides showing off gorgeous homes--is ultimately to have fun and celebrate! This award will go to the team with the most excitement and Christmas spirit!
• Best Decked Halls (Best Overall Theme): An overt theme is not required; however, should you choose to decorate your house in a specific theme, this is where that would come into play. Themes like coastal, farmhouse, whimsical, candy, glam... whatever your creative brains concoct! 
• Best Festive Fare (Best Food and/or Drink): Everyone loves a good holiday treat. This award will go to whoever has the best food or drink (or both!) that attendees just couldn't get enough of. You are not limited to only sweet things, nor are you limited to beverages of one temperature. Sweet, salty, savory, hot, cold, alcoholic or not--it's all welcome!
