On Wednesday, May 6th, the Wilmington-Cape Fear HBA will be offering an SDL Virtual CE course option called Land Use and Construction & Why It Matters to Pay Attention that will cover the 4-hour elective requirement that licensed general contractors and licensed Real Estate agents are required to complete.  This is a dual CE Elective Class for General Contractors & REALTORS®.  Please read the registration details closely, as different fees apply based upon the CE Credit you are receiving. This course is designed to showcase the many similarities between Land Use and construction and why it matters to really pay attention to both when constructing a new structure.  Many contractors start a new build with the tried-and-true requirements of the North Carolina Building Code.

In this course, we take a different approach and study the mechanics of zoning first to make sure your project gets off to a good start. Upon completion of this course, students will have a better understanding of a Zoning Ordinance specifically the dimensional requirements as well as the overall mechanics of a zoning ordinance and how it relates to the construction of a structure.
